ASEAN Observers Visit Thai Border Zone for Landmine Clearance Review
ASEAN observers visited Thailand's border with Cambodia in Saraburi province to monitor landmine clearance operations and verify security conditions affecting local residents in the region.
On September 10, Deputy Commander Jakkritsorn Turaphan and Deputy Commander Nawin Koolsai of the Buriram Army Command hosted the ASEAN Observers Team in Thailand (AOT-TH) during a field visit to Saraburi province to monitor and verify conditions along the Thai-Cambodian border. Local government and community leaders facilitated the delegation's visit to Nong Chan village in Kok Sung district, where the observers received briefings on land surveying and the issuance of land deeds within Thai territory. They gathered detailed information about operational procedures and ground conditions from relevant agencies, allowing them to understand Thailand's border management efforts comprehensively. The delegation also inspected landmine clearance operations at Nong Chan, reviewing work procedures and observing actual ground conditions to assess security impacts on local residents in the border area. The field visit represents collaborative coordination on border situation monitoring, providing the observers with direct access to factual information and real conditions from the work of Thai agencies, thereby promoting comprehensive understanding of the Thai-Cambodian border situation.
