On September 10, 2025, Immigration Bureau Region 3 Commander Thongprode Sirisuk and Deputy Commander Chinwut Tangwongleert ordered an investigation team led by officers including Suriya Puangsombat, Pititpat Srithanaopatinant, and Jaturachoke Phetkhong to inspect a factory in Plaeng Yao District, Chachoengsao Province following a tip-off that Chinese nationals had been illegally brought in to work.
During the inspection, 17 Chinese workers were found performing various duties including factory management, machinery installation and operation, electrical work, accounting, and construction—all without valid work permits. The arrests were made and charges filed under the law against foreigners working without authorization or performing work outside their permitted scope.
Investigators are now expanding their inquiry into the hiring procedures, management structure, and roles of company executives, employers, and related parties. They are gathering employment documents, wage records, immigration entry and exit data, and witness statements to determine whether company officials knowingly hired the undocumented workers or facilitated the violations. If evidence shows violations, authorities will revoke the legal status of any individuals found culpable.
