Michael Carrick, Manchester United's interim manager, revealed that within days he will know whether he will permanently take charge of the "Red Devils." Carrick is reported to have reached an agreement to become Manchester United's new permanent manager on a two-year contract through 2028 with a one-year extension option, after guiding the team to third place in the Premier League and qualification for next season's UEFA Champions League.
Following Manchester United's 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest in their final home match of the season, Carrick addressed his future: "In the coming days there will be clarity about the situation. Today was about the game and getting the right result, along with some players showing good form. Whatever news comes out, I'm confident you'll know within days." The 44-year-old manager also praised Casemiro, who played what appeared to be his final match at Old Trafford before leaving the club at season's end: "We have players who are leaving and coming out of contract. Casemiro has played exceptionally well. We have a good relationship, so it's good to see the positive response from him. We also have Terrell (Malacia) who has had some injury issues since arriving here, but everyone should show him appreciation as well."
