Case Closed! BBQ Equipment Theft Report Ends with Red Fox Caught with Hot Dog in Its Mouth
A red fox caught stealing a hot dog from a barbecue in Alberta, Canada turned out to be the culprit behind a reported equipment theft, with police humorously "releasing" their furry suspect with a full stomach.
Police in Alberta, Canada encountered an unexpected twist after receiving a report of "barbecue equipment theft" that seemed serious but turned out to be comedy gold from start to finish. When officers arrived at the scene in Crowsnest Pass, they found not a criminal suspect, but a red fox proudly carrying a hot dog in its mouth, appearing to have just completed a successful heist. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police humorously posted on social media that they were searching for a suspect with "red hair, short stature, and wearing a thick coat"—a description that sounded serious but was oddly suspicious from the start. After a quick area search, officers discovered the "suspect" attempting to hide evidence nearby, only to realize the evidence in question was the hot dog firmly lodged in the fox's mouth. Police shared photos of the incident on social media, which immediately went viral because the image of the red fox with its prize perfectly "closed the case" without any further investigation needed. Ultimately, officers concluded their report with a tongue-in-cheek summary: "The suspect was released without conditions and with a full stomach," sending internet users into fits of laughter and sharing the story widely, cementing yet another bizarre case in online history.
