Cattle Truck Overturns, Five Cows Escape in Rayong
A cattle truck overturned on Rayong's Highway 36 on July 24, with five cows escaping onto the roadway while the driver sustained only minor injuries near Ma Boe district.
At 8:00 a.m. on July 24, the Rayong Emergency Center received a report of a cattle truck overturned on Highway 36 beneath the four-level interchange near Ma Boe district, Nikom Pattana subdistrict, Rayong province. Rescue teams from Siam Rayong Emergency Services responded immediately. Upon arrival, they found the pickup truck overturned on its side near the center barrier. Two cattle remained secured in the truck bed with rope, while the male driver had sustained only minor injuries and received first aid. Police from Nikom Pattana Station assisted with traffic management to prevent further accidents.
Questioning the driver revealed he was transporting five cattle total from Chachoengsao province to a farm owner in Mueang Rayong district. While turning onto the route toward Mab Ta Phud, the truck lost control and flipped to the left. The impact terrified the cattle in the rear, causing five of them to jump the enclosure and scatter frantically onto the roadway. Only two cattle remained safe because they were tethered to the truck frame.
The driver expressed confidence that his survival was due to the spiritual protection of Luang Pu Tuad, the revered Buddhist image he kept mounted on his vehicle. However, he was deeply concerned about the five escaped cattle. He is appealing to the public and passing motorists to report any sightings or help capture the animals by contacting Nikom Pattana Police Station so he can recover them.
