Continental is investing approximately 13 billion baht to launch Phase Two of its tire manufacturing plant, boosting production to 8 million tires per year and cementing Thailand's role as a premium tire production hub for the Asia-Pacific region. Christian Kuetz, Continental's Chief Executive Officer, stated that the Rayong production facility is crucial to Continental's global manufacturing network, with this Phase Two expansion marking a significant milestone in strengthening the company's Asia-Pacific operations while delivering premium-quality car and motorcycle tires from Thai-skilled workers to customers worldwide. The Phase Two facility, which represents an investment of over 300 million euros (approximately 13 billion baht), adds 3 million tires annually to total capacity and produces tires for sedans, pickup trucks, SUVs, and motorcycles at premium quality levels, serving both Thai automakers and replacement tire markets while exporting to ASEAN nations, Australia, South Korea, and Japan. Thailand was selected as a major production base due to its strategic advantages, including proximity to raw materials and automotive manufacturers, reduced logistics costs, and the facility's deployment of advanced technology and automation systems that ensure high-quality products manufactured by skilled Thai workers for global distribution.
