Democrat Party Prepares No‑Confidence Debate Against 18 Ministers
The Democrat Party is preparing a no-confidence debate against 18 individual ministers, planning to hold it in late October or early November. Deputy Leader Korn Chatikavanij said the party's standards are high and the public will be shocked by the evidence, adding they will not proceed unless there are substantive issues. Deputy Leader Karnde Liao-piroj summarized the criticisms as concerning managerial ability, disaster response, and ethics, which she described as 'stupid, bad, evil'.
Korn Chatikavanij explained that the Democrat Party has been preparing the no-confidence motion for a considerable time, and after jointly filing the motion with the opposition they consider their information complete. They plan to question and accuse the government of poor management in recent months, with several party MPs set to take part in the debate, likely in late October or early November. He emphasized that the party's interpellations are held to a high standard and would not be pursued merely for spectacle. Karnde Liao-piroj added that her three points of criticism concern the intellectual capacity of officials, their ability to manage disasters and problems, and governance and ethics, which she summed up in Thai as 'stupid, bad, evil.'
