The dentist first thought it was a denture, but it turned out to be the patient's real teeth.
In the video, the dentist describes a large chunk of hardened tartar with several teeth embedded in it—so fossil-like in appearance that it's easy to mistake at first glance. However, these are genuine teeth from the patient that became dislodged along with the tartar buildup. The dentist explains: "Look at this case. Do you wonder what these teeth in the tray are? I was wondering too. I thought they were dentures the patient was wearing, but actually they're real teeth held together by tartar. The tartar had bonded each of the patient's teeth together, making it look exactly like a denture."
