Deputy PM Denies Transfer Linked to Special Case Investigation
Deputy PM Songsakdi Thongsoree denied that Police General Yuthana's transfer from DSI Commissioner to Prime Minister's special advisor is linked to any investigation, calling it routine career advancement.
At 9:30 a.m. on September 23 at Government House, Deputy Prime Minister Songsakdi Thongsoree commented on the Cabinet's decision to transfer Police General Yuthana Praedram from Commissioner of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to special advisor at the Prime Minister's Office. Songsakdi stated he visited the government compound on September 22 and found no issues. He emphasized that Yuthana possesses strong knowledge and capability, and noted that his transfer from a level 10 to level 11 position reflects a normal career advancement that civil servants aspire to achieve. When pressed by reporters about the timing and motivations for the transfer, Songsakdi declined to elaborate, describing it as a routine administrative decision. He firmly denied any connection to ongoing special investigations, adding that he is pleased to have the opportunity to bring Yuthana on board to assist with public complaints and citizen grievances. Songsakdi indicated that additional duties would be assigned to him in the future.
