Retailers Celebrate as Tourists from 9 Countries Can Now Pay via 'Tung Ngoen' App
Krungthai Bank's Tung Ngoen app now lets tourists from nine Asian countries pay directly at Thai retailers, with merchants receiving instant baht transfers and eligibility for government support programs.
Krungthai Bank announced that its 'Tung Ngoen' application enables retailers to efficiently manage payments from foreign visitors. Tourists from 9 countries—China, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, South Korea, and Hong Kong—can now scan and pay instantly, with merchants receiving full payment in Thai baht directly to their accounts with real-time notifications and comprehensive daily and monthly transaction summaries.
To commemorate its 60th anniversary under the concept "Every Step Toward a Million Futures," Krungthai Bank is running a special campaign for new merchants registering with the 'Tung Ngoen' app. Merchants who process at least 10 foreign tourist transactions (minimum 50 baht per transaction) between May 1 and August 31, 2025, will receive a complimentary Big C gift voucher worth 100 baht.
Registering as a 'Tung Ngoen' merchant also provides opportunities to participate in future government support programs such as "Thai Help Thai Plus" and various economic stimulus measures, helping entrepreneurs expand their business and generate sustained income growth.
Interested merchants can register at any Krungthai Bank branch, contact the Krungthai Contact Center at 02-111-1111, or visit https://krungthai.com/link/qrcross-promo2026 for more information.
