On July 30 at 6:00 p.m., authorities in Chachoengsao District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province received reports of a major fire at an agricultural equipment and supplies shop in the western section of Chachoengsao Market. District Chief Weerachai Chulkaew and other officials coordinated ten fire trucks from municipal and subdistrict authorities to battle the blaze, which was spreading rapidly due to the abundance of agricultural supplies, chemicals, and PVC pipes inside the two-story shop serving as excellent fuel. Firefighters focused on preventing the flames from spreading to nearby residential areas in the crowded community and managed to contain it successfully.
After nearly three hours of intensive water spraying from multiple fire trucks, the fire was brought under control. The entire shop and its agricultural inventory were completely destroyed, with estimated damages of approximately 5 million baht. Police from Chachoengsao Station and forensic officers plan to investigate the cause, with preliminary evidence suggesting an electrical short circuit.
The shop owners, Punnapa (last name withheld), 32, and Ratchanon (last name withheld), 32, who are a couple, explained that they had operated the agricultural supplies shop for several years and were planning their wedding for August 15, 2569. Before the fire broke out, they had closed the shop and were out distributing wedding invitations when they learned their store had burned down completely. They suspect the fire resulted from an electrical short circuit and are awaiting police investigation to determine the actual cause.
