The meeting reviewed investigative findings, evidence collection, and strategies to apprehend Thana, known as "Por," age 43, and Thongchai, known as "Thong," age 39, who remain at large. As of 7:20 p.m., Region 2 Provincial Police Commander Chatchai Surachetpong confirmed that neither suspect has been arrested and the missing Russians have not been found, while assuring the public that updates will be provided as the case develops.

On July 30, rescue volunteers from the Chainat province Gratitude Foundation and local disaster prevention officials responded to a snake-in-vehicle incident at a shopping mall parking lot in Ban Glua subdistrict, Mueang Chainat. The vehicle owner, a 40-year-old woman, had abandoned her SUV in panic after discovering the snake coiled near her feet as she returned from shopping. The python jumped into the front console as she fled.

Rescuers initially attempted to locate the snake but struggled to reach it with their hands. They made the difficult decision to dismantle sections of the front console. When they opened the first section, they found a python about the size of a thumb, roughly 18 inches long. However, as they widened the opening, the snake repeatedly tried to escape deeper into the dashboard, forcing them to dismantle additional sections. What took just one minute to capture required nearly an hour of dismantling work before they could finally remove and release the python back into nature.

Even after the snake was secured, the rescue volunteers' work wasn't finished—they had to reassemble numerous car parts they had removed, a task that took approximately an hour and a half to restore the vehicle to its original condition. Despite the effort, they completed the repairs so the owner could drive away without worry. Meanwhile, lottery enthusiasts wasted no time photographing the license plate number 4221 to buy government lottery tickets, hoping for luck.

A tragic accident occurred on July 30, 2025, at 11:52 a.m. on the Phayao-Chiang Kham road in Huai Lan subdistrict, Dok Kham Tai district, Phayao province, when a pickup truck collided with a ten-wheel dump truck. The pickup then lost control and crashed into a parked semi-trailer truck alongside the road. Emergency rescue teams from Samakon Khukhrai Khunthorm, Khun Lan Rescue, Dok Kham Tai municipal disaster prevention and mitigation personnel, and Huai Lan subdistrict rescue units rushed to the scene to provide assistance.

At the accident site, rescuers found a bronze Isuzu pickup truck with severe damage to the right front section. The vehicle was crushed up to the cabin, trapping the driver inside the wreckage. Rescue personnel used cutting and extraction equipment to remove the body of Mr. Pradung (surname withheld), who had sustained serious injuries at multiple locations and died at the scene. A ten-wheel dump truck with Phayao registration was also found out of control nearby. Police from Dok Kham Tai station and on-duty doctors from Dok Kham Tai Hospital conducted an investigation and autopsy at the accident site before the body was handed over to Khun Lan Rescue to be transported to the victim's hometown for religious funeral ceremonies. The family did not insist on knowing the cause of death. However, police will continue to investigate and gather evidence to provide a detailed conclusion about the cause of this accident.

At 6:20 p.m. on July 30, 2025, the King and Queen processed to the Piman Rattaya Throne Hall in the Grand Palace to conduct a 50-day memorial ceremony (Panya Samvara) and royal cremation rite for the late Princess Galyani Vadhana, who held the title of Princess of Ratchasarin Siripetch and the rank of Maha Vacha Rajathidha. Members of the royal family, including Princess Sirivannavari and other princesses, accompanied the ceremony.

Upon arrival at the Piman Rattaya Throne Hall, the King and Queen presented flower garlands before the casket of Princess Galyani. The ceremony continued with four monks chanting sacred passages as the King presented offerings of robes and necessities. The King and Queen then performed ritual water libations while monks recited words of transference and blessing. The King made prostrations before the Buddha image and lit further candles and incense at the eastern and western prayer platforms.

After receiving the respects of those who came to pay tribute, the King and Queen proceeded to pay their respects at the casket of the late Queen Sirikit before departing by royal motorcade.

On July 30, 2025, Navy spokesman Pol. Capt. Parich Ratanachiyphan revealed that the Mekong River patrol unit in Nong Khai, coordinating with regional security agencies, successfully intercepted drug smugglers in Sangkhom District, approximately 3 kilometers from the Mekong River. Officers arrested one suspect and seized one vehicle along with approximately 300 kilograms of ice valued at around 300 million baht. The suspect and evidence have been handed over to investigators for prosecution, with authorities pursuing leads on other gang members.
