French Tourist, 19, Detained in Phuket After Disoriented Incident
A 19-year-old French tourist was detained in Phuket City after appearing disoriented and uncontrollable on a main road, with authorities investigating whether cannabis or other drugs caused his condition.
A video posted by the Facebook page Newshawk Phuket on August 22 showed a French tourist appearing disoriented and unable to control his behavior on Yaowarat Road in Phuket City. Police intervened and transferred the man to Phuket Tourist Police before sending him to Phuket City Police Station. The tourist was identified as 19-year-old Yullis from France. Reports indicated he exhibited intoxication-like symptoms after cannabis use and became uncontrollable, though he remained incoherent. After the video spread, online users questioned whether the symptoms indicated cannabis alone or possibly other drugs. Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of his condition and are awaiting medical evaluation results to determine the true nature of his symptoms.
