Kuwaiti Tourist Arrested After Spraying Pharmacist in Phuket
A Kuwaiti tourist was arrested in Phuket after spraying a pharmacist with an unknown substance, leaving her hospitalized with severe symptoms including paralysis and heart irregularities.
A Kuwaiti tourist has been arrested after spraying a pharmacist with a substance resembling perfume at Mukda Pharmacy on Phrabaramee Road in Patong, Phuket, in the early morning hours of September 2. The victim experienced severe symptoms including tongue stiffness, slurred speech, loss of balance, rapid heartbeat, chest tightness, and near fainting, requiring emergency hospitalization at Patong Hospital.
Police acted quickly following the incident, with Patong Police Station launching a full investigation led by Second Lieutenant Arthawat Chairik. Officers successfully tracked and arrested the suspect and recovered two perfume bottles believed to have been used in the attack.
According to Phuket Provincial Police Commander Sinlerth Sukum, preliminary investigation reveals the suspect has committed similar attacks on multiple previous occasions. Police have sent the bottles for forensic analysis to determine the chemical composition and are examining his criminal history. Although the victim has declined to press charges and is preparing to return to Kuwait, police have committed to informing the Kuwaiti Embassy of the incident and the suspect's behavior for further monitoring.
