Eight-Year-Old Girl Dies in Collision With Six-Wheel Truck in Phuket
An eight-year-old girl died after a six-wheel truck struck her motorcycle on a Phuket road in Chalong on September 4, as the vehicle swerved at a construction zone.
At 5:10 p.m. on September 4, 2025, Deputy Superintendent Phubodin Narinrat of Chalong Police Station received a report of a collision between a six-wheel truck and a motorcycle on Chao Fa Tawan Oek Road, Chalong Subdistrict, Phuket City. After notification, the incident was reported to Surasak Jaichay, Commander of Chalong Police Station, who coordinated with rescue and emergency personnel from the Phuket Ruam Jai Rescue Foundation to investigate the scene.
At the accident site, rescuers found a six-wheel truck with a Phuket registration plate driven by Manasai, and a pink and black Honda scooter with a Bangkok registration plate overturned on the road. Beside the motorcycle lay the body of eight-year-old Sirinnya, who was pronounced dead. Rescue workers transported her body to Vachira Phuket Hospital for further procedures.
The motorcycle operator, identified as the girl's uncle, sustained injuries and received assistance from rescue personnel before being transported to Chalong Hospital for treatment.
Dashcam footage from passing vehicles showed that prior to the collision, the motorcycle had been traveling alongside the truck until reaching the accident point, which was at a road construction diversion. The motorcycle then changed lanes before the truck ran over it as it lay on the road, and the truck subsequently stopped nearby.
Police are currently investigating the full details and determining the exact cause of the accident, while proceeding with legal procedures.
