At 2 p.m. on September 4, Lieutenant Itthiphon Rueangruang, deputy investigation officer of Thong Pha Phum Police Station in Kanchanaburi, received a report of a body floating in the Khwae Noi River near Ban Prang Kasi Bridge in Tha Khun Subdistrict, Thong Pha Phum District. He rushed to the scene with hospital staff and volunteers from emergency rescue organizations.
The body of a young woman was found face-down along the riverbank. She was approximately 40 to 50 years old, thin-built with fair skin and long red-dyed hair. She wore a short-sleeved yellow Chinese-style shirt decorated with a red phoenix design interspersed with green leaf patterns, alongside images of halved watermelons and spray bottles. She was wearing only underwear on her lower body. A cord resembling a medical IV line was tied around her left wrist. She had a small wound on her forehead near her right eyebrow, and her right eye was severely bruised and swollen shut.
No identification documents were found on the body. Villagers and local residents who gathered at the scene confirmed they had never seen the woman before. After checking with Thong Pha Phum Police Station, no missing persons reports matching the victim's description had been filed. The body was transferred to Thong Pha Phum Hospital for safekeeping.
Investigation officers from Thong Pha Phum Police Station have contacted hotels and lodges throughout Kanchanaburi Province to determine whether any missing persons reports have been made. They are appealing to anyone who recognizes the victim or knows of someone matching her description to visit the body at Thong Pha Phum Hospital, which is accessible 24 hours a day.
