Daycare Teacher Fired for Stripping 5-Year-Old in Classroom

A daycare teacher has been immediately dismissed following an incident in which a 5-year-old child was forced to remove his uniform and underwear, leaving only socks, and made to stand in front of the classroom. Police will schedule a multidisciplinary evaluation of the child on Monday regarding the incident.

At 3 p.m. on September 4, 2026, at Paveena Foundation, Paveena Hongsikul met with consultant Geisai Chantrapraphawat, Bangkok Governor Chatchat Sittiphand, and the child's parents to hear their complaint. The child became deeply embarrassed and frightened by the incident, refusing to return to school afterward.

Following the meeting, Geisai Chantrapraphawat expressed sincere regret over what occurred and confirmed that the teacher has been terminated effective immediately. The foundation stated that if the teacher's actions are found to constitute misconduct, disciplinary measures will be applied according to regulations.

The foundation has proposed to the Bangkok administration that training and education programs be developed for classroom teachers and childcare staff on proper child supervision and care. This is intended to strengthen child safety measures in educational institutions across Bangkok.

Paveena Hongsikul thanked Geisai Chantrapraphawat for attending the meeting and resolving the matter promptly. The foundation has coordinated with Wat Ratsadun Police Station for the child's parents to meet on September 7 at 10 a.m. for a multidisciplinary evaluation. Since the parents do not wish the child to continue at the current school, Paveena Foundation will help arrange enrollment at a new institution.
