Three Youths Arrested for Sexual Assault at Khon Kaen Hotel
Three men were arrested in Khon Kaen after sexually assaulting an intoxicated 21-year-old woman in a dormitory room; her friend escaped and reported the crime to police.
At 8:30 a.m. on September 4, 2026, Deputy Superintendent Vishnusak Chotioen of Mueang Khon Kaen Police Station, together with Investigation Unit 1 officers, arrested three men: Anuruk, 22; Nathanchai, 19; and Prakrit, 19, on charges of joint sexual assault.
The investigation began after a woman (referred to as Ms. A, age 20) reported to investigating officer Lieutenant Darunee Lamakhai that her friend (Ms. B, age 21) had been sexually assaulted by three men in a dormitory room. When police arrived at the room, they found all three suspects still present with the victim and brought them to the station.
Ms. A stated that she and Ms. B had been at an entertainment venue. After it closed, the three men offered to escort them to their dormitory. However, instead of dropping them off, the men took them to a room belonging to Anuruk. Once inside, all three assaulted Ms. B, who was severely intoxicated and unable to resist. Prakrit recorded video on his mobile phone during the assault.
Ms. A, though intoxicated, remained conscious enough to escape. She ran outside, flagged down a passing vehicle, and asked the driver to help her report the incident to police.
When questioned, the three suspects admitted to knowing the women from the entertainment venue. They claimed they invited them back to the room to continue drinking and that the assault occurred due to intoxication, insisting the woman did not resist.
Police deleted the recorded video from the suspect's phone and charged all three men with joint sexual assault of a woman not their spouse, using force and coercion, and taking advantage of her incapacity to resist. The suspects have been held pending court proceedings at Khon Kaen Provincial Court.
