Man Arrested for Sexual Assault of 13-Year-Old Girl
A man was arrested in Chanthaburi on charges of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl staying at his home; he confessed during interrogation to attacking her twice.
On September 15, 2026, under the direction of Deputy Provincial Police Commander Arthapong Sunthravipat, City Police Station Commander Seksorn Sriparit, and Deputy Commander Kiattisak Bunyangyen, police arrested Thanawiputh, known as "Tong," on a court warrant from Chanthaburi Provincial Court number 178/2569, issued on September 15, 2026. He faces charges of rape with coercion and violence against a child under fifteen years old who was unable to resist.
The case began when a 13-year-old girl, identified as "A," filed a complaint with investigators at the City Police Station, alleging that Tong, the father of her male friend, had sexually assaulted her while she was staying at a house in Bang Krajae subdistrict, Chanthaburi City. Police coordinated with a multidisciplinary team to interview the child in detail, gathered evidence, obtained a court warrant for arrest, and apprehended Tong at the location where the incident occurred.
During initial interrogation, Tong confessed to the sexual assault. He claimed he had been close to the victim's mother for a long time, and when her family separated, the girl stayed with him because she was friends with his son. On the day of the incident, he returned home late from work and found the girl sleeping. He then sexually assaulted her twice, taking advantage of the opportunity. Police informed him of the charges before handing the case over to investigators for further legal proceedings.
