Thailand Cuts Diesel Prices by 4 Baht Per Liter
Thailand cut diesel prices by 4 baht per liter starting September 16 to stabilize fuel markets amid Middle East tensions affecting global oil supplies.
Thailand's Energy Policy Management Committee has announced a reduction in diesel prices at the refinery gate of 4 baht per liter, effective from September 16 to October 31, 2026. The Royal Gazette published the announcement on September 15, 2026. Ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East involving the United States, Israel, and Iran continue to disrupt global crude oil and refined product supplies, keeping domestic fuel prices highly volatile. To prevent fuel shortages and stabilize the market, the Energy Policy Management Committee approved the price reduction at its meeting on September 14, 2026. The committee was acting under the authority of the 1993 Fuel Shortage Prevention and Remedy Decree and Section 3(1) of the Prime Minister's Order No. 35/2019. All three grades of diesel are affected: B0, B7, and B20 will each be reduced by 4.00 baht per liter from September 16, 2026 onward. The previous price reduction announcement from September 9, 2026 has been revoked.
