Thai Military Reveals Drone Strike Op Against Cambodian Forces at Preah Vihear
Thai military released drone strike footage against Cambodian forces at Preah Vihear temple, saying the operation targeted weapons and communications systems used to attack Thai border villages.
The Royal Thai Army released video footage on September 15 showing a drone strike operation by the Falcon Team, part of the Army's Second Regional Command, under the banner "Truth from Preah Vihear—Facts Cambodia Won't Acknowledge." The footage documents military operations around Preah Vihear temple and surrounding areas to demonstrate Thailand's response to the situation there.
The video shows the drone strike team destroying Cambodian counter-UAV systems, jamming equipment, communications towers, weapons, and military fortifications in the Preah Vihear area. Thai officials say the operation was conducted in response to Cambodian troops using the World Heritage Site as a military base to launch attacks into Thai territory near Huay Taam Ria and Pham Or Daeng. The strikes were aimed at degrading and limiting Cambodia's ability to carry out such attacks.
