Villagers Carry 90-Year-Old Woman 9km to Fix Bank Card
Villagers in Sangkhla Buri district carried a 90-year-old bedridden woman 9 kilometers down a rain-soaked mountain on September 14 to fix her malfunctioning ATM card at a bank branch in town.
Villagers from Koh Sadet came together on September 14 to carry a bedridden 90-year-old woman named Sey Puay Tongpa Chagorn down from their hilltop village in a stretcher over approximately 9 kilometers to reach town, braving continuous rain. Village leaders, forest fire officials, health volunteers, and residents cooperated to transport the elderly woman to a Krungthai Bank branch in Sangkhla Buri district, where she needed to resolve a problem with her ATM card that could not process transactions through machines. After carrying her to Khong Mong Tha village, she was loaded into a waiting vehicle for the final trip to the bank branch in town. The journey was documented and shared on social media, highlighting the community's compassion and willingness to help one of their own.
