Police Wives' Group Finds Elderly Woman Stranded in Flood
Members of the Pathum Thani Police Wives' Association delivered food, water, medicine and other supplies to four flood‑affected communities on October 2, 2025. During the distribution they found an 86‑year‑old woman alone in her house, unable to leave because of rising water and feeling dizzy from watching the flood. Local residents continue to care for her and other bedridden patients while the group provides ongoing assistance.
On October 2, 2025, Thanyaporn Worakanthaphat, president of the Region 1 Police Wives’ Association, Pol. Lt. Gen. Peeraphol Chotikasathien, commander of Pathum Thani Provincial Police, and Nattaya Chotikasathien, president of the Pathum Thani Provincial Police Wives’ Association, joined the Central Investigation Police Foundation and the Central Investigation Police, the Highway Police Division, and officers from Pratu Nam Chulalongkorn Police Station, Pathum Thani, to assist flood‑hit residents in the four communities of Ruam Mit, Mit Samphanthan, Kamnan Sangwal and Rangsit Nimith Mai Phatthana, located in Soi Rangsit‑Nakhon Nayok 13, Thanyaburi District. They distributed food, drinking water, household supplies and medicine to those in need. The team observed that many areas remained under 30‑90 cm of water, some of it stagnant for several days and beginning to emit an unpleasant odor. Residents had to walk through the water to get in and out of their houses, leading to skin irritation and other ailments, prompting the distribution of medicines and essential items to relieve immediate hardship. While visiting elderly and bedridden residents, they found an 86‑year‑old woman living alone. She said the floodwater outside her house was high but had not entered, and she spent the day watching the water, which made her feel dizzy. Although relatives from Pattaya urged her to evacuate, she stayed because she was worried about her home. She endures the situation, waiting patiently. The bedridden patient also stated they did not want to evacuate to avoid inconveniencing others and wished to remain at home, where the water outside was about 30 cm deep. Neighbors continue to bring food and look after them. The Region 1 Police Wives’ Association said that, given the prolonged flooding in Pathum Thani affecting many areas, they are concerned about residents’ welfare — especially food, drinking water, essential supplies and medicine for those who have been standing in water for long periods and developing skin problems — and therefore they are providing aid and checking on the elderly and bedridden during this flood crisis.
