Cyber Police Commander Steps Down, Successor Takes Charge
The Technology Crime Investigation Bureau held a change‑of‑command ceremony on 30 September, with outgoing commander Pol Lt Gen Surapol Prombutr handing over leadership to Pol Maj Gen Tinngorn Rangmat. Surapol thanked his team for five years of service and expressed confidence that the new leader would continue the fight against cyber crime and restore public trust. Tinngorn vowed to pursue cyber offenders decisively, support personnel and build a transparent, trusted bureau.
The handover ceremony featured an honour guard of police who saluted as outgoing commander Pol Lt Gen Surapol Prombutr presented the unit flag to Pol Maj Gen Tinngorn Rangmat and signed the official transfer log. After the rites, Surapol gave commemorative gifts to newly appointed officers and presided over scholarship awards for police children, followed by a traditional sword‑arch ceremony and a merit‑making rite for retirees and those joining the force‑realignment program. In his farewell remarks, Surapol said his tenure would end at midnight, praised Tinngorn as a long‑standing deputy with resolve and behind‑the‑scenes contributions, and urged all personnel to keep working with dedication to protect society and maintain public confidence. Tinngorn responded that his mission is to accept the responsibility and hopes of the public harmed by online crime, stressing that cyber police must anticipate threats, cut off criminal routes and dismantle networks decisively while supporting staff, listening to them and striving to make the bureau a trusted, transparent and upright institution.
