A suspect has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at Bangkok Gold's Yaowarat branch in Samkok, Pathum Thani, where 52 gold necklaces worth 3.5 million baht were stolen in just two minutes on the afternoon of September 13. Police tracked CCTV footage and the suspect's escape route after learning he had used a hired motorcycle to flee the scene. Officers arrested him after he returned to hide at his residence near Prem Prachakon Temple in Bang Poon Subdistrict, Mueang District, Pathum Thani, where all 52 gold necklaces were recovered intact. Preliminary investigation revealed the suspect lived in the Khlong Prem Prachakon area and had parked his motorcycle near the temple before riding to the gold shop to commit the robbery. The weapon was identified as a fake gun. After the robbery, he rode the hired motorcycle to Lotus shopping mall in Mueang Pathum Thani, then returned to retrieve his own motorcycle before heading home, where he was eventually arrested. He is currently being interrogated.
