Police Arrest Udon Thani Student in Bangkok Stabbing Case
Police arrested a 20-year-old Udon Thani student in connection with a stabbing at BTS Siam station on September 7 that injured two other students during an altercation between rival universities.
Following a dispute between students from Rajamangala University of Technology Isan's Udon Thani campus and Pathumwan Institute of Technology near BTS Siam station on the third floor, a knife-wielding altercation broke out on the platform, leaving two Pathumwan institute students stabbed in the back on September 7. Emergency responders provided first aid and transported the victims to Police Hospital and Hua Chiewpai Hospital. Region 6 Police Commander Chaiyakrit Phodapha, Deputy Commander Narith Pratnaporn, and other senior officers ordered an investigation. After eight days of tracking, police arrested a 20-year-old male student from Rajamangala University of Technology Isan's Udon Thani campus under warrant JO1261/2569 issued on September 11. He is charged with attempted murder and carrying a knife in a public area without justification. Upon arrest, the suspect admitted his identity and confirmed he had not been previously apprehended on this warrant. He was handed over to Pathumwan Police Station for further questioning and legal proceedings.
