Ex-Husband Charged with Attempted Murder After Ramming Wife's Motorcycle

A 41-year-old man named Barjit has been charged with attempted premeditated murder and property damage after deliberately ramming his car into his ex-wife riding a motorcycle and dragging her approximately 200 meters, causing serious injuries. Police arrested him at a residence in Kamphaengphet city along with a friend who was in the car. The suspect confessed that jealousy over his ex-wife, whom he had been pursuing for months to reconcile, drove him to the attack after seeing her post affectionate photos with her new husband on social media.

The suspect denied allegations that he had threatened to kill his ex-wife, claiming instead that he was merely pressuring her to remarry him and start a new life together. After she blocked him on social media and cut off communication, he attempted to contact her stepdaughter but eventually sent her voice messages via Line. Police have charged him with attempted premeditated murder and property damage, and he has been remanded into custody at Kamphaengphet Provincial Court. His friend was detained as a witness after stating he did not know about the planned attack and was only invited to ride along.

Chaiwarwat Ruesrijun, 63, a rescue coordinator from Suang Kamphaengphet and sub-district assistant, who witnessed the incident and helped the victim, recounted that he received a report of a collision near a Bangkok Bank branch. The victim was lying on the road approximately 200 meters from her motorcycle. After the initial impact, the suspect extracted the motorcycle from under his damaged sedan and fled the scene. The witness expressed shock at the severity of the violence, noting that such an act between former spouses was terrifying.
