Ex-Husband Rams Car Into Ex-Wife's Motorcycle, Drags It 200 Meters
A 41-year-old man drove his sedan into his ex-wife's motorcycle in Kamphaengphet, dragging it 200 meters and injuring her legs; he later surrendered to police, claiming he wanted to force her to talk.
At 6:30 a.m. on August 4, Deputy Superintendent Chaya Tuephon from Khlong Khlung Police Station in Kamphaengphet received a report of a sedan hitting a motorcycle. Officers and rescue workers responded to the scene in front of a bank in Tha Makhue Subdistrict, Khlong Khlung District, Kamphaengphet Province. They found a red Honda Wave motorcycle that had been knocked 200 meters from the point of impact, with one female victim, 39-year-old Ms. Rat, injured on her body and both legs. She was taken to Khlong Khlung Hospital. The fleeing sedan was a black Honda Civic driven by 41-year-old Jed, the victim's ex-husband.
CCTV footage showed the sedan following the motorcycle from Tha Makhue intersection and striking it near the bank. The motorcycle was dragged 200 meters. In the video, Jed and an accompanying friend dismounted, removed the motorcycle caught under the front of the car, and drove away. Ms. Rat reported that after the collision, the front and rear wheels ran over her right leg. She said she and Jed had separated two months earlier. He repeatedly tried to reconcile, but she refused and blocked all contact. When he threatened further harm and recently messaged her daughter about coming to the wedding, she rejected him. On the day of the incident, as she rode to work, she saw his car turn around and chase her, leading to the collision. She believed he deliberately hit her from behind and attempted to reverse over her, but her relatives arrived in time to intervene.
Jed stated he did not intend to kill her but wanted to make her stop and talk to clear things up, claiming the situation got out of hand. He removed the caught motorcycle and returned home, then contacted the subdistrict headman to surrender to police. He admitted to loving her deeply and said they argued frequently. He claimed the last straw was seeing her post on social media with a new boyfriend and her voice message refusing to reconcile. He attributed the attack to long-standing jealousy. His accompanying friend claimed to know nothing about his intentions.
