Thailand Wraps E-Commerce Restart Drive, Generates 600 Million Baht in Sales
Thailand's e-commerce promotion program concluded with over 3,000 entrepreneurs generating 600 million baht in sales across roadshows in Songkhla and Chiang Mai, combining digital training with direct business networking opportunities.
On September 4, 2025, the Ministry of Commerce's Department of Business Development and the Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Office announced results of the E-Com Restart Roadshow, which held activities in two major economic centers: Songkhla and Chiang Mai. The initiative, built on the framework of Rethink–Rebuild–Reboost, mobilized over 3,000 entrepreneurs and generated economic value totaling more than 600 million baht.
Punpong Naiyanapakorn, director of the Department of Business Development, explained that the project's success reflects Thai entrepreneurs' readiness to adapt to changing global trade conditions, particularly the expansion of online business channels. Rather than a conventional training event, E-Com Restart brought experts, tools, and business opportunities directly to entrepreneurs in their regions, enabling immediate practical application of knowledge.
In Songkhla, the program provided southern business owners with hands-on training in e-commerce and digital marketing while allowing them to exchange experiences with successful entrepreneurs and specialists. The "Rethink" component encouraged entrepreneurs to identify new opportunities from shifts in consumer behavior and leverage local product strengths for broader market reach. The activity also fostered networks among entrepreneurs, government agencies, and digital platforms, helping businesses transcend geographical limitations and access customers nationwide and internationally.
Chiang Mai's event attracted substantial interest from lifestyle goods, food, tourism, and community product businesses seeking to harness online channels for market expansion. The program's "Rebuild" phase helped participants restructure business strategies—from product development and brand creation to content production, customer acquisition, and platform selection. Entrepreneurs received guidance on deploying digital technologies such as digital marketing, e-commerce platforms, and artificial intelligence to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve competitiveness.
The initiative served as a turning point, prompting entrepreneurs to reassess their operations, identify new prospects, and prepare for scaled growth. The department committed to supporting high-potential entrepreneurs in implementing their learning and advancing their businesses.
