Thailand Launches Platform to Sell Community Products Online
Thailand's government has launched a new platform called "Weave Dreams, Deliver Dreams" to help small businesses and artisans sell products online, combining digital technology, e-commerce training, and Thailand Post's nationwide logistics
The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, and Thailand Post are partnering strategically under the concept 'Weave Dreams, Deliver Dreams' to help small businesses and artisans sell community products on online markets. The initiative integrates digital technology, e-commerce skills development, marketing networks, and logistics infrastructure to help individuals and professional groups move from having skills and goods to having markets, income, and sustainable self-reliance. Digital technology will expand market reach while Thailand Post's network will connect Thai entrepreneurs and goods to consumers nationwide, reducing market and transport barriers, lowering costs, and creating economic opportunities across all regions.
Deputy Minister Nan Bounthida Somchai of the Digital Economy and Society ministry said digital technology today is not merely a communication tool but a crucial mechanism for creating economic opportunities and boosting competitiveness, especially for small-scale entrepreneurs with potential products but limited market access.
This collaboration demonstrates how government agencies and state enterprises with different roles can integrate their strengths for mutual benefit, combining e-commerce and digital marketing expertise to support the ministry's beneficiaries from promotion and sales channel creation through to connection with Thailand Post's distribution network, enabling goods to reach consumers efficiently both domestically and potentially to broader markets in the future.
Crucially, the aim is for digital technology to create tangible benefits—not just add online channels, but enable people to use those channels to generate income, expand markets, and genuinely improve their competitiveness.
Deputy Minister Chanok Janthathong of the Social Development and Human Security ministry said the partnership is a significant step in advancing 'Weave Dreams by MSDHS' from skills development and career promotion to developing economic systems and opportunities for target groups by connecting people, products, markets, and networks. The ministry cannot drive this mission alone and needs strategic partners who combine each side's strengths to create new opportunities. The collaboration with the Digital Economy and Society ministry and Thailand Post aims not merely to add sales channels but to create genuine opportunities for income generation and improved quality of life under the concept 'Weave Dreams, Deliver Dreams, Dreams Come True'.
Lt. Col. Thanasit Iamnananchai, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Digital Economy and Society ministry, said the partnership reflects how government agencies integrate their strengths to create a support system that increases market access for individuals and professional groups under the ministry's care. Digital technology will support every stage from promotion and sales to logistics and delivery management, while Thailand Post operates a nationwide service network with expertise in shipping and logistics.
