The Department of Business Development is launching a major "Thai Help Thai Shop Online" campaign for the 9.9 shopping festival, partnering with two Thai e-commerce platforms to offer over 17 million baht in total discounts. Poonpong Nayanapakarng, director-general of the Department of Business Development under the Ministry of Commerce, revealed that the department is continuing to support SME entrepreneurs according to the policy of Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Supachai Sutharmaphand. Currently, SMEs account for 35 percent of the overall economy, and the Commerce Ministry aims to increase this to 40 percent to distribute income widely among small business operators. The 9.9 festival serves as a key driver for online spending, bringing together over 2,000 quality products from SMEs, community enterprises, and local manufacturers nationwide, offering deep discounts of up to 60 percent with a maximum of 4,000 baht per order, plus free shipping coupons to reduce consumer shipping costs. Partner platforms will waive their sales commissions throughout the campaign to help reduce costs for merchants. "This 9.9 festival is a golden opportunity for shoppers to buy quality goods at great prices," said Poonpong. "All these subsidies not only help save money but also return income to communities and boost Thailand's economic growth. Customers can start selecting quality community products and collecting discount coupons for the 9.9 promotion on ThailandPostMart and Nex Gen Commerce platforms from September 7, 2026 onwards, while coupons last."
