Gold prices surged 400 baht per gram on August 5, reaching 65,300 baht per gram as traders anticipate further gains toward the 80,000 baht level.
The Thai Gold Traders Association reported brisk trading on August 5, 2569, with ornamental gold climbing 400 baht per gram from the previous day's closing price. Ornamental gold was quoted at 65,300 baht per gram for sales, with buyback prices at 63,020.12 baht per gram. Bullion bars (96.5% purity) were trading at 64,300 baht per gram for buyback and 64,500 baht per gram for sales. Global gold spot prices reached $4,100 per ounce. Market sources forecast further gains of 1,000–2,000 baht per gram in the coming session, potentially breaking through the 80,000 baht level.
