The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) reported exceptional success in the first 2025 issuance of "Ompplus" government savings bonds via the Bond Connect Platform, with subscription orders exceeding 16.511 billion baht—8.2 times the 2 billion baht offering limit. Nearly 24,000 investors received allocations: approximately 9,390 investors received 3-year bonds valued at 704.5 million baht, while approximately 13,916 investors received 10-year bonds worth 1.3 billion baht.

SET board chairman and president Asadej Kongsiri stated that the strong demand reflects high public interest in investment. To ensure fair access for retail investors, the exchange used a Small Lot First distribution method, starting with a minimum investment unit of 1,000 baht. This approach aligns with SET's mission to provide equitable and widespread investment opportunities to the general public.

Those who missed this round can participate in the next subscription period scheduled for September 7-9, 2025. Kongsiri noted that commercial banks remain the primary distribution channel, followed by securities brokers and other financial institutions, which collectively enable broad public access to government bond investments.
