Government Launches Second Savings Bond Offering in September
Thailand's government is offering 2 billion baht in Savings Bond Plus from September 7-9, with investors choosing between 1.8% returns over 3 years or 2.8% over 10 years, starting at just 1,000 baht minimum.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand is inviting investors to subscribe for the second tranche of government Savings Bond Plus for 2025, with a total offering of 2 billion baht from September 7-9 through the Bond Connect system. Investors can choose between a 3-year bond paying 1.8% annual interest or a 10-year bond paying 2.8% annual interest, with quarterly interest payments.
The minimum investment is just 1,000 baht with no upper limit on purchases. The allocation follows a Small Lot First approach, distributing 1,000-baht allocations in rounds to all subscribers to ensure equitable access to this savings vehicle.
Subscriptions will be accepted nationwide from 8:30 a.m. on September 7 until 3:00 p.m. on September 9 through securities accounts with 24 participating distributors, including both digital channels and branches (6 commercial banks and 18 securities companies), as well as through the Streaming app. Allocations will be completed on September 10.
