Finance Ministry Launches 4 Billion Baht Savings Plus Bonds
Thailand's Finance Ministry is launching 4 billion baht of Savings Plus bonds, offering 3‑year and 10‑year options at 1.80% and 2.80% interest. Half will be sold via the Paotang app’s SBM Wallet from October 26, the rest through the Bond Connect Platform from October 27‑29, with a minimum purchase of 100 baht.
The Finance Ministry said it will issue 3‑year Savings Plus bonds at a fixed rate of 1.80% and 10‑year bonds at 2.80% to encourage regular saving and provide extra benefits. The bonds promote financial inclusion, offer attractive returns, have a secondary market to reflect transparent prices, and will be sold through more channels including the SBM Wallet on the Paotang app, commercial banks, securities firms and streaming applications. Individuals can buy as little as 100 baht, with a maximum of 1 million baht per transaction and up to 50 million baht per person. Sales through the Paotang app begin October 26 at 08:30 and run until November 13 at 15:00 on a first‑come, first‑served basis for Thai nationals aged 15 or older (those under 20 need parental consent). The Bond Connect Platform will accept subscriptions October 27‑29, guaranteeing allocation to all applicants.
