Thailand to Distribute 9,000 Baht Flood Relief This September 8
Thailand will distribute 9,000 baht to each flood-affected household starting September 8, with Nan Province receiving the first transfer of 136.9 million baht for over 15,000 families impacted by monsoon flooding.
The Deputy Government Spokesperson, Wing Commander Phattharasami Thongsluaykorn, revealed that the Cabinet approved flood relief criteria and procedures on August 25, 2569. Each affected household will receive 9,000 baht to alleviate hardship caused by flooding during the 2569 monsoon season.
Nan Province will receive the first transfer of relief funds for 15,215 affected households, totaling 136,935,000 baht. The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation submitted the beneficiary list to the Government Savings Bank on September 5, 2569, and funds will be transferred between 2:00 and 6:00 AM on September 8, 2569. Recipients can verify the payment through their Government Savings Bank account or linked PromptPay account using their national ID number.
The 9,000-baht payment applies to primary residences flooded for no more than 7 days with property damage, or continuously flooded for over 7 days, provided the residence is in an officially designated disaster zone. Each household receives assistance only once.
Flood victims who have not yet applied can register through the "Thang Rat" mobile application, which links to national registry databases for verification and status tracking, or submit documents directly to local administration offices. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and the Interior Minister have directed agencies to expedite assistance by progressively entering verified data into the system without waiting for complete village information, enabling faster fund transfers.
Nan residents eligible for this first round should verify their bank account or PromptPay linked to their national ID to receive the 9,000-baht payment on September 8.
