Woman Found Dead in Phuket Hotel Room
A 27-year-old woman was found dead in a Phuket hotel room on September 6, with drug equipment discovered in the bathroom and an autopsy underway to determine the cause.
Deputy Inspector Phakapoom Chumsai of Patong Police revealed on September 7 that officers responded to a death report at a hotel in Kathu district, Phuket, on September 6. The deceased, identified as Ms. A (a pseudonym), was 27 years old. Initial investigation found no signs of forced entry or physical injuries, though drug equipment was discovered in the bathroom.
Hotel staff reported that the woman was staying alone in the women-only facility and had been having frequent disputes with her foreign boyfriend, mainly via phone calls, during which she would cry out loudly in her room. Around 3:00 a.m. on September 6, she ordered food through an app and left it at reception, saying she would visit a nearby convenience store. She returned at approximately 3:20 a.m. with her food but did not come back down.
The hotel manager called staff back after receiving a message from the woman's foreign boyfriend stating she was having difficulty breathing and asking them to check on her immediately. When staff reached the room, they found the door locked from inside with an additional chain lock. After cutting the chain, they discovered the woman dead and immediately notified police. Medical examiners are conducting an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
