The ceremony marked the launch of Highgate School’s first overseas campus, an institution with over 460 years of history from the United Kingdom, situated in Chonburi near Siam Country Club. The school began its first phase of teaching in August 2026, offering pre‑prep and junior school programmes for children aged 2 to 11, with plans to open a senior school in 2027.

Speaking at the event, Thanayaporn Praphapha Tangkaravakun, chair of the school’s board, said the school aims to create a genuine environment where children can learn and grow as themselves, fostering a community that encourages exploration, experimentation, and joy in every step of development. She thanked families for trusting the school from day one.

Ben Keilling, principal of Highgate International School Thailand, expressed pride in helping establish the school and gratitude toward partners and colleagues from various sectors, noting the London team’s vital role in laying the foundations and continuing to guide the school’s direction through oversight. He added that the school’s commitment to nurturing a love of learning, full engagement, and social responsibility prepares pupils intellectually, emotionally, culturally, and with life skills, enabling them to lead meaningful lives and contribute positively to society and the world.

The school’s core values are curiosity and rigour, engagement and enthusiasm, and community and kindness, which form the basis of a curriculum designed to inspire students. Furthermore, the campus sits on spacious grounds that provide a modern learning environment.
