Historic First: 'Royal Thai Dress from Tradition to Modernity' Exhibition Now Open in Paris
Thailand's royal fashion exhibition opens in Paris, featuring over 200 designers' works spanning traditional textiles to contemporary pieces and celebrating 170 years of Thai-French diplomatic ties.
Historic first! The 'La Mode en Majest: Royal Thai Dress from Tradition to Modernity' exhibition has opened at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, France. Held under the patronage of Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana, the exhibition marks 170 years of formal diplomatic relations between Thailand and France. Organized through collaboration between the Thai Arts and Crafts Promotion Institute, the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles, the Thai Embassy in Paris, and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, the exhibition showcases the beauty of Thai cultural heritage through royal garments, antique textiles, fine craftsmanship, and contemporary works by over 200 Thai designers across seven exhibition rooms. These displays highlight the role of clothing as a medium for cultural and diplomatic exchange between Thailand and France. The exhibition is open to the public from today through November 1, 2026 at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
