On July 12, 2569, it was reported that on July 11, Lieutenant Colonel Pinit Netrapunya, superintendent of Mae Tha Police Station, ordered the investigation unit to pursue and arrest illegal gamblers in the area after receiving complaints from residents, parents, spouses, and family members affected by gambling addiction within their families. Three arrests were made:
Suspect 1: Mr. Aew (surname withheld), residing at Moo 4, Tambon Mae Tha, Amphoe Mae Tha, Lampang Province. One mobile phone was seized. Charged with "illegal slot machine gambling and wagering without authorization." Arrested at an unnumbered rental room at Moo 1, Tambon Mae Tha, Amphoe Mae Tha, Lampang Province on July 11, 2569 at approximately 6:00 p.m.
Suspect 2: Mr. Big (surname withheld), age 35, residing at Moo 9, Amphoe Mae Tha, Lampang Province. One mobile phone was seized. Charged with "illegal slot machine gambling and wagering without authorization." Arrested at a roadside location at Moo 1, Tambon Mae Tha, Amphoe Mae Tha, Lampang Province on July 11, 2569 at approximately 6:00 p.m.
Suspect 3: Ms. Mot Daeng (surname withheld), age 31, residing at Moo 1, Tambon Mae Tha, Amphoe Mae Tha, Lampang Province. One mobile phone was seized. Charged with "illegal slot machine gambling and wagering without authorization." Arrested at a roadside location at Moo 1, Tambon Mae Tha, Amphoe Mae Tha, Lampang Province on July 11, 2569 at approximately 6:00 p.m.
It was reported that during the arrest operation, the suspects remained focused on playing the slot machines and appeared unaware that police officers had entered to apprehend them. They were taken into custody and will face legal proceedings.
