Inmate In Major Fraud Case Dies After Surgery
Supachai Srisupaksa, former chairman of Khlong Charn Credit Union Cooperative and key figure in a 160-million-baht money laundering case, died following surgery at Trongak Hospital in July.
The Department of Corrections announced on July 12, 2026, that Supachai Srisupaksa, an inmate in a money laundering case linked to the Khlong Charn Credit Union Cooperative, has died following surgery at Trongak Hospital. Deputy Director-General Prawut Wongsinin stated that Supachai was transferred outside the prison for medical treatment, first to Phra Nang Klao Hospital and then to Trongak Hospital, with his family accepting the outcome. Supachai was the former chairman of the Khlong Charn Credit Union Cooperative board and faced charges of corruption and embezzlement in connection with damages valued at more than 160 million baht.
