World number 2 Kulwutti Vittitchananth faced India's world number 11 Lakshya Sen in men's singles and dominated with a convincing straight-set victory, 21-19 and 21-16, advancing to face the winner of the next match. In mixed doubles, Thailand's third-ranked pair Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran defeated Chinese Taipei's Ye Hongwei and Nicola Gonzalez Chan (ranked 10th) 2-1 with scores of 21-17, 20-22, and 21-10, progressing to face Zhu Yiming and Li Xian.
