Lawyer Seeks Witness Protection After Alleged Stalking and GPS Trackers
Lawyer Aun claims he has been stalked and found two GPS trackers under his car, prompting him to file a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission. He has asked police to investigate and requested witness protection from the DSI in connection with a money‑laundering case involving senators.
On 19 October 2069, Lawyer Aun (Natthapong Supakon) submitted a letter to the National Human Rights Commission through commissioner Wasan Pai-lee-klie, asking for a fact‑finding investigation and safety protection measures after alleging continuous harassment and surveillance by an unknown group. He said suspicions began on 12 October when traveling to report at Mueang Amnat Charoen Police Station, continued with covert photography at Provincial Police Region 3 headquarters, and culminated on 15 October when two GPS trackers were discovered underneath his personal vehicle during a check in Nakhon Ratchasima. He filed a police report with the Provincial Police Bureau on 16 October to identify the SIM card owner linked to the devices, who he says is from Tambol Tatam, Sangkha District, Surin Province. Aun said he reported the suspect to Region 3 Police, but no action has been taken, prompting him to seek the NHRC’s help to join investigations with both regional police and the DSI, and to request personal protection. He added that he will approach the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) on Wednesday to seek witness protection, noting he is a witness in the DSI’s money‑laundering case concerning senators and another case involving public fund misuse, and hopes the NHRC will liaise with the DSI and other agencies to examine whether state authority was misused in the alleged intimidation.
