On July 10, 2569, Thailand's Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department reported a magnitude 2.4 earthquake at 3:05 p.m., with a focal depth of 1 kilometer near Sawaang Arom Subdistrict in Dok Kham Tai District, Phayao Province. The earthquake was caused by movement along the Phayao fault line, which runs roughly north-south with a northwest tilt, exhibiting normal fault displacement.
Tremors were felt in Dok Kham Tai and Sawaang Arom subdistricts, with no initial damage reports. Following the quake, Phayao Governor Oraapa Lohvira instructed the provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office to coordinate with local authorities and conduct field assessments to monitor the situation and check affected areas.
