Man Acting Suspiciously Arrested at Checkpoint with 238 Methamphetamine Pills; Claims Friend Left Drugs with Him
A 35-year-old man was arrested at a Bang Sao Thong checkpoint in May with 238 methamphetamine pills, claiming a friend left the drugs with him for safekeeping. Police are investigating to trace the drug supply chain in Samut Prakan province
On May 24, 2026, officers from Bang Sao Thong Police Station, including Deputy Commander Maj. Sarayut Bunchaem, conducted a checkpoint on Wat Si Waree Noi Road where they arrested 35-year-old Chaisilp. Officers noticed suspicious behavior and conducted a search, finding 238 methamphetamine pills. During interrogation, the suspect stated he had no regular employment and claimed the drugs were given to him by a friend for safekeeping. Police initially charged him with possession of Category 1 narcotics with intent to distribute without authorization and forwarded the case to prosecutors. Authorities are coordinating with the investigation team to expand the case and trace the supply chain from small dealers to major traffickers. Bang Sao Thong Police Station plans to intensify patrols and community surveillance to prevent drug distribution in Samut Prakan province.
