Manchester United has unveiled the location of its new 100,000-capacity stadium set to replace Old Trafford. The new stadium will be situated approximately 350 meters northwest of the current Old Trafford ground, though decisions about the future of the existing stadium remain pending.

United recently announced it has purchased most of the land for the new facility, which will become the largest stadium in the United Kingdom. The club has now released additional details about the Trafford Wharfside development, a master plan for the area surrounding the club's current home, with the new stadium serving as the centerpiece of this initiative.

The new stadium will function as a year-round sports and entertainment hub, accompanied by the construction of thousands of new homes. The development will also feature improved public transportation infrastructure as well as enhanced opportunities for walking and cycling.

The plan requires approval from Trafford Council scheduled for July 20. If approved, an eight-week consultation period will follow from July 28 to September 22, during which various community events will be held across the area to showcase the master plan and gather public feedback.

BANGKOK — July 9, 2026: Thailand's Meteorological Department has warned that although Typhoon Bavi will not make landfall in Thailand, it is expected to strengthen the southwest monsoon and bring heavy rain and possible flash floods to parts of the country between July 10-15.

The department issued warnings for strong winds and rough seas in the Andaman Sea and upper Gulf of Thailand, along with heavy to very heavy rainfall across the western coast of southern Thailand, western Central Plains, and eastern regions during this period.

Five provinces—Ranong, Phang Nga, Kanchanaburi, Chanthaburi, and Trat—have been placed on high alert for flash floods and forest runoff.

While Typhoon Bavi will not directly enter Thailand, it will intensify the prevailing southwest monsoon, resulting in heavy to very heavy rainfall and accumulated precipitation across many areas.

Farmers in affected regions have been advised to prepare their agricultural land to minimize potential damage.

Anchalee Suvachittanont, Director-General of the Department of Agricultural Extension, said farmers in the Central, Eastern, and Andaman regions should jointly assess conditions and survey high-risk areas to implement preventive measures and reduce impacts from Typhoon Bavi, particularly on July 11-12 when the southwest monsoon is expected to peak over Thailand.

Mid-July forecasts indicate rainfall coverage of 60-70% nationwide, with rainfall expected to increase to around 85% by August. Authorities warned that prolonged wet conditions could lead to agricultural losses and urged farmers to implement long-term preventive measures in advance.

Dermatologist Lin Yunxuan has identified the red bumps as cherry angioma, a benign blood vessel growth. Although commonly associated with aging, people in their 20s can develop these lesions, with over half of adults above 20 having at least one. However, a rapid increase in the number of bumps or accompanying skin abnormalities warrants immediate medical evaluation.

Cherry angioma appears as bright or dark red raised bumps, typically 1-2 millimeters in size, commonly found on the chest, abdomen, back, and limbs. While mostly harmless and age-related, recent research has explored potential links to certain medications like cyclosporine and tamsulosin, chemical exposure including mustard gas, and possible associations with diabetes, abnormal blood lipids, and pregnancy.

Most notably, medical researchers have discovered a connection between cherry angioma and melanoma skin cancer. Studies show people with numerous cherry angiomas have higher melanoma rates, and melanoma patients have approximately three times more cherry angiomas than average. Some cherry angiomas carry genetic mutations also found in uveal melanoma, suggesting a shared biological mechanism.

However, doctors emphasize there is no cause-and-effect relationship. Current evidence shows only a statistical correlation, not that cherry angiomas cause melanoma or that people with many bumps will definitely develop cancer. Medical consensus remains unclear as different studies define "numerous" differently, ranging from more than 10 to more than 50 lesions.

The Department of Livestock and Thai Chamber of Commerce are promoting the "Livestock OK" program, certifying meat retailers meeting food safety standards. Dr. Ajchapun Sangsiriruk, senior veterinary officer at the Department of Livestock, visited a certified example shop at Siam Khoo Sa-ang Market in Samut Prakan Province on July 9. The program, now in its 11th year since 2015, has continuously improved meat production processes from farms through slaughterhouses to retail outlets, ensuring consumers purchase meat from certified GAP farms and legally licensed slaughterhouses.

Previously, many meat retailers operated in unsanitary conditions with waste and pest problems, risking disease contamination and consumer safety. Retailers must now upgrade hygiene standards and source meat from certified producers so consumers can choose quality, standardized products.

The department will increase "Livestock OK" symbol awareness using Google Maps technology to help people locate certified shops. Namtip Pakdisaen, owner of the model shop "Je Kung," said good standards build customer trust, increase sales, and simplify shop management, encouraging other retailers to join.

Win Pinsirothom, senior director of CPF Global Food Solutions Limited (CPFGS), said CPFGS acts as a "coach" helping retailers meet standards by surveying shops, analyzing weaknesses, planning improvements, and providing hygiene and record-keeping training. The goal is expanding model shop networks and creating mentors nationwide.

Pornchai Iamsangwanjit, deputy chair of the Thai Chamber of Commerce's livestock business committee, said certified "Livestock OK" shops are vital to local economies, helping elevate SMEs and boost competitiveness, strengthening grassroots economies. Consumers gain confidence purchasing from certified retailers, retailers upgrade to meet standards and source from certified producers, and farmers and slaughterhouses improve production standards throughout the supply chain. The Thai Chamber promotes the program through provincial networks, publicity, and business matching.

Certified retailers must meet four criteria: meat from GAP-certified farms, processed by licensed slaughterhouses, maintain hygiene standards, and source from certified producers.
