The ministry says the event promotes youth development, teamwork, and disciplined play.
The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has launched the Prime Minister’s Youth Cup Football for the 2026/27 season, inviting male youth teams nationwide to register from October 1 to 31. The competition features three age categories: U14 (born January 1, 2013 or later), U16 (born January 1, 2011 or later), and U18 (born January 1, 2009 or later). Minister Surasak Phonjeerawarakul emphasized that the tournament helps youth develop football ability, use free time productively, gain competitive experience, and learn teamwork, discipline, and respect for the rules. Eligible players must be Thai nationals; those registered in Thai League 1‑3 or the PEA U21 Youngster League may participate if they remain within the age limits. Each squad must list 18 to 30 players, including at least three goalkeepers. Matches will begin at the district or zone level based on each team’s location. Fans can follow the tournament and show support via the FA Thailand and Thai Youth Football Facebook pages.
