More Shocking Than Garbage: Cigarette Butts Overflowing in Bathroom for 9 Years
A Bangkok landlord discovered a rental room occupied for nine years completely filled with garbage and cigarette butts after the tenant vanished for months, leaving only a narrow pathway through the debris.
On May 7, TikTok user @ohmmm767, a rental room landlord, inspected a tenant's unit in Soi Seua Yai, Bangkok, and discovered a shocking scene filled entirely with garbage. The rental room, occupied for 9 years, had piles of trash towering throughout, leaving only a narrow pathway. The left wall was covered with garbage bags while the right side near the bed held stacked plastic bottles. The bathroom was equally filthy, overflowing with plastic bottles and—most disturbingly—cigarette butts piled so high in the bathroom sink that they spilled over dramatically, prompting concern about the tenant's lung health.
The landlord and her mother proceeded to clean the room together. After the post went viral, many commenters questioned whether the tenant was still alive. The landlord responded that the tenant was alive but had been absent for 4-5 months while continuing to pay monthly rent. Several observers noted that despite the chaos, the trash was oddly organized—plastic bags on the left side, plastic bottles on the right, with a clear pathway dividing the room.
