Muang Thai Life Insurance is tackling Thailand's demographic shift—declining working-age population and rising life expectancy—by launching the Muang Thai Flexi Retire Series, a new flexible pension plan that lets customers arrange retirement planning to suit their life stage and lifestyle. The product pairs with a network of 44 senior living and nursing facilities nationwide.

Chief Executive Sarada Lamsam explained that Thailand is entering a clear demographic transition. The retirement question is no longer just "when should I retire?" but "will I have enough savings after retirement, and how will I cover rising healthcare costs as I age?" Longer life expectancy demands long-term planning, especially as work patterns and retirement ages vary by generation and as technology and labor-market shifts reshape future income and employment models.

Muang Thai is framing customer care across three dimensions: lifespan (living longer), healthspan (maintaining good health and quality of life), and wealthspan (financial security throughout life). This philosophy has shaped new products and services that go beyond protection to include financial readiness and elderly healthcare.

The Muang Thai Flexi Retire Series lets customers choose flexible premium-payment options and pension start dates. They can pay in one lump sum, over five years, or continuously until a set age. Pension start dates are available at 55, 60, 65, or 70. Customers can receive annual or monthly payments, with step increases by age bracket to cover rising costs in advanced age, and can take the first pension installment as a 30% lump sum. If life plans change after premiums are paid, eligible policyholders can adjust the pension start date with 30 days' notice and a 300-baht fee.

The Flexi Retire range includes Flexi Retire Pro 90/1 and Flexi Retire Next 90/1 (single-payment options for ages 55, 60, 65, 70), Flexi Retire 90/5 (five-year payment options for ages 55, 60, 65), and Flexi Retire 9055, 9060, 9065 (tax-deductible pension plans). Sales began October 1, 2026.
