A Nonthaburi police officer known online as 'RoboCop Nonthaburi' died after his motorcycle collided with a car making a U-turn. The commander recalled the tearful moment he learned of Thanawat’s death, emphasizing that the officer had only been promoted to Police Sergeant Major the previous May and was known for his strong sense of duty. Thanawat had been with Bang Sri Mueang Police Station for six years, starting as a patrol officer in 2021. Even on his days off he would take extra security or private jobs, sending every extra baht to his mother in Kalasin Province, where his father had died when he was young and he lived with his mother and older sister. The commander said he often saw Thanawat survive on just three skewers of grilled pork and five-baht sticky rice, denying himself so his mother would not go hungry. He had advised the young officer to look after his health, and Thanawat had told him he remained single because he needed to care for his mother. After the commander transferred to Saraburi Province for two years, they stayed in touch, with Thanawat regularly reaching out to talk or seek advice. Upon returning to Bang Sri Mueang, the commander found Thanawat unchanged in character and said he would travel to Kalasin to attend the funeral.
