The OR–Gulf–AIS Thai Football for Thai People program is partnering with Chainat Hornbill Football Club to host a Football Clinic titled "Expanding Opportunities, Breaking Every Limit" on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Khao Plong Stadium in Chainat Province. The clinic aims to give young people the chance to learn football skills from Chainat Hornbill players and coaching staff while inspiring them to pursue professional football careers.

The Football Clinic has been designed for youth to practice football skills intensively through both theoretical and practical learning. It covers essential techniques including ball control, passing and receiving, shooting, agility training, and ball management. Chainat Hornbill's coaching staff and players will share their experience, techniques, and methodologies for developing players' skills to inspire young Thai footballers.

Beyond the Football Clinic, the same day will feature a special exhibition match called "Dream Match: Thai Football Inspiration, Empowering Local Football," which will bring together famous celebrities, artists, and influencers including Saksit Taengtong, Akrapong Bunnarak, Theerathep Winothai, Chakrapan Pornisai, DJ Plakung, Bell SPOTZ, Hack from CLASH, Thoote of Toot Ball Thailand, Tongsui, and many other football content creators to play alongside Chainat Hornbill players, Chainat Provincial Administration Organization, and Chainat Provincial Administration School. The day will include entertainment activities and numerous activity booths for football fans to enjoy throughout the event.

Director Tom Wattanathep's latest film "Morte Cucina" has been creating buzz well before its theatrical release. The award-winning Thai filmmaker combines Thai culinary arts with an intense narrative, reuniting with world-class cinematographer Christopher Doyle and featuring an ensemble cast including Bella Buaeng, Kritsana Sripoomi, Peter Napatchai Chainam, and Tadanobu Asano.

When asked about the premiere experience, Tom expressed excitement: "I was excited. We forgot this day would come. Finally we get to show it to audiences. We thought we'd just have fun making it and call it done, but here we are. No matter how many films you make, you still get nervous. Experience doesn't really help."

Regarding international audience reception, Tom noted: "Mostly positive. The film debuted at the 73rd San Sebastián International Film Festival in Spain, a place famous for its food culture and home to more Michelin-starred restaurants than anywhere else in the world. It fit perfectly with our film. After that, we screened in several countries—Japan and Taiwan both have strong food cultures—so audiences there really loved it. The response was quite good. The film came to Thailand later than hoped because there were so many Thai films competing for release slots. We had to pull some strings to get in," he said with a smile.

Regarding expectations for Thai audiences, Tom added: "I have expectations but won't say them to the media or people just laugh. The world has changed. This generation wants films that challenge them. But our films challenge audiences all the time. If we challenge someone and they can't handle it, but this generation can. Hopefully we'll do well with this one."

On incorporating Thai cuisine into the narrative, Tom explained: "Thai food isn't just inserted into the story—it's a main character. The film's idea originated from reading a news story about a woman who killed her husband through cooking. In that case, she used poison and got caught, making it big news. So we thought, how could someone kill their husband through food without getting caught? We consulted with several chefs. They said, 'How many years would you want him to die in?' Then they designed a menu."

When asked how the cast came together, Tom responded: "Like lightning striking mud—nice people just came together. Casting is always risky for me, either it works or it doesn't. I've never felt confident after casting someone. So I had to talk with each actor individually. Bella said she's very confident. Kritsana said the same because the script he read he could chew and absorb into himself. And Peter—no need to mention him—I'm confident in him. But he might not be confident in me," Tom smiled.

A stone embankment protecting the bank of the Chao Phraya River collapsed over a stretch of about 100 metres in Ang Thong province on July 1, 2026, prompting authorities to investigate the cause and prevent further damage.

The collapse occurred in Village Moo 6, Ban Hae subdistrict, Mueang district, where the riverbank rises about 40 metres above the Chao Phraya River. Officials said the damaged section appeared at risk of expanding.

As a precaution, floating platforms used by fishing tourism operators were moved away from the danger zone.

Annop Suwanchana, president of the Ban Hae Subdistrict Administrative Organisation, said local residents alerted him to the collapse. Upon inspection, he found the embankment was continuing to give way.

Local authorities coordinated the relocation of the floating platforms before notifying district and provincial officials to inspect the site, determine the cause of the collapse and implement measures to prevent further erosion.

UNITED STATES — Eight-year-old Phannarin "Cherlyn" Srichaphan, daughter of former world No. 9 Thai tennis star Paradorn Srichaphan, delivered a stellar performance to claim the girls' 7-8 age division title at the FCG International Championship 2026, held at St. Mark Executive Golf Course in the United States.

The tournament, organised by Future Champions Golf (FCG), an international youth golf development organisation headquartered in San Diego, California, took place on 29-30 June.

Cherlyn produced an outstanding performance over the two-day event. She opened with rounds of 27 and 25 for a first-day total of 52, two under par, before carding rounds of 29 and 24 to finish with 53, one under par, in the final round.

Her 36-hole total of 105, three under par (par 54), secured the championship in the girls' 7-8 division.

The victory marks another international success for a young Thai golfer and follows in the athletic footsteps of her father, Paradorn Srichaphan, who once brought global recognition to Thai tennis.
